Smart Crossing
Automatic real-time detection of infringement(s) on railways crossings
Smart Crossing combines multiple detections in real-time and is supplied at camera side with our edge on-computing Sm_All device. On top of it, a classification allows the process to be complemented with real-time counting of people and vehicles passing through.
The all-in-one process includes a delimitation of the danger zone, the classification of people and vehicles, a detection of traffic lights and crossing barriers phases, a detection of crossing of the railway crossing at red lights phase sent as alerts.
Delimitation of the danger zone (on top of the railway crossing)
A fully automatic process run at Sm_All level calculates, automatically and on-demand, the danger zone on top of railways crossing. The zone is delimitated with 2 green lines (one for each side) with 2 arrows showing the possible directions of vehicles and persons.
The process can be edited manually with a dedicated software available with Smart Crossing.
Usually, this automatic process is automatically launched at each camera startup.
Once launched, each person or vehicle passing through the danger zone are counted.
Classification of people and vehicles
Thanks to artificial intelligence and deep learning, Sm_All detects and counts each person and each vehicle passing through the level crossing.
A total of 12 different vehicles are detected and counted (such as cars, trucks, vans, large vehicles, bicycles, …).
Detection of traffic lights and crossing barriers phases
Sm_All automatically detects automatically in real-time the traffic lights phases (white or red) and the crossing barriers phases (open or closed) and is therefore able to understand the complex scenarios of railways crossings and fight against infringement(s) while the crossing is closed with red lights.
The process is done with IVA (Intelligent Video Analytics) only. No other sensors needed.

Thanks to a full integration of the Milestone Xprotect plugin on our Sm_All platform (World Premiere), Smart Crossing sends the video along with metadata and alerts (detections, classification, counting, …).
Milestone Xprotect receives alerts and therefore allows you to focus only on alerts of crossing instead of continuously watching at cameras.

What is Smart Crossing?
Smart Crossing includes Sm_All with the Smart Crossing Software with artificial artificial and deep learning models and the Milestone Xprotect plugin.
An IP 65 enclosure is supplied to be able to place it in technical cabinets.
